When I think of Italy, I usually think of vineyards, wineries, delicious pasta, beautiful countrysides, futbol tournaments, and beautiful indigenous people who are always happy and always smiling; at least, until they get iced by the Mafia. Okay, so I freely admit that my knowledge of Italy is very much influenced by television and movies. Regardless of that fact, Italy is one of the last countries I would expect to produce a band like N.A.M.B. Mixing elements of Electronica, Psychedelia, Industrial, and Alternative Rock, N.A.M.B. is an interesting experimental band, even if only on paper. So then, how is the final product? The short answer (for all you ADD kids out there) is AWESOME.

Described as “Wall-E meets The Wall”, “L.O.N.” is from, N.A.M.B.’s new album BMAN. It’s a concept album about a robot (Bman) and his quest for self-identity. I’m not sure where the opening comparison comes from. They’re also kind of like The Flaming Lips if they were from Europe or Pink Floyd if they had access to 21st century technology. The album comes with a 96 page artistic booklet of drawings detailing BMAN’s story. Now we’re talking prog rock.

There was a time when being "ethereal" meant being aband who were usually found at some obscure record store in town, on the left of the dial, or on the unknown blogs that you prefer not to tell anyone.

Ho sempre trovato orrendo associare a un gruppo musicale o a un album i termini “spacca”, “spaccare” e compagnia bella. Spacca chi? Spacca cosa? In che modo chi spacca cosa? Mah...

Italian four piece N.A.M.B are back with their sophomore album…
Back in 2005 – four years ago – N.A.M.B released their eponymous debut album, and finally, after tours with Blonde Redhead, Spoon and Fantomas, they are back with ‘BMAN’. They seem awfully fond of these four letters, don’t they? N.A.M.B decide what N.A.M.B means on a fairly regular basis – some days it is “Neuroni Annoiati Masticano Boiate (“Bothered Neurons Chew Rubbish”), or, my personal favourite “Nascere Artisti Morire Bufooni” ("Born Artist, Die Clowns”).

Think Muse are bonkers? Well, get your listening gear around NAMB. The italian psych-rockers constantly conjure up different meanings for their name, and have based their epic second offering around a weird-looking little robot called BMAN's quest for identity.

It’s not everyday that you get to experience an Italian band from Turin, singing in English about a little robot called BMAN and his quest for self-identity.

Avete mai sentito elettronica, anni '60, industrial e noise insieme?
